AI in Energy and Commodities

This document is the final report for the study of AI proliferation into the energy and commodity business and corresponding software solutions. The goal of this study was,

- to conduct high-level research into industry sentiments around AI applications used by energy and commodity businesses in their CTRM systems and beyond

- to analyze how these companies attempted to address industry concerns over AI use and,

- what the business benefits of potential AI applications were.

The focus of this research was to identify business areas where AI applications appear to hold the most promise due to the significant improvements they can provide, and areas where companies potentially only claim to use AI tools to follow the trend. We wanted to separate the hype around AI technologies from realistic use cases with real benefits for the users.
